In the belt conveyor, an efficient and continuous material conveying equipment, the drive roller and the redirection roller of the Belt Conveyor Bend Pulley play an indispensable role. They each have specific functions and jointly ensure the stable operation of the conveying system.
The drive roller is the power source of the belt conveyor. It transmits the rotational power to the conveyor belt through the drive of the motor and the reducer, so that it can run continuously and smoothly. As the driving wheel, the performance of the drive roller directly affects the conveying capacity, operating efficiency and energy consumption level of the conveyor.
The drive roller is usually installed at the discharge end of the belt conveyor (that is, the end of the material output). Such a layout is conducive to the installation and maintenance of the motor and the reducer, and it is also convenient to adjust the tension of the conveyor belt to ensure that the conveyor belt maintains appropriate tension during operation.
The structure of the drive roller is diverse. According to the different driving methods, it can be divided into two types: external and internal. The external roller is driven by an external motor and a reducer, and has a relatively simple structure and is easy to maintain; the internal electric roller integrates the motor, reducer, etc. inside the roller, and has a compact structure and is suitable for occasions with limited space. In addition, the drive roller is also divided into single roller and double roller forms to meet the needs of different conveying volumes and conveying lengths.
The main function of the redirection roller is to change the running direction of the conveyor belt to ensure that the material can be conveyed along the predetermined path. In some cases, the redirection roller can also play the role of compacting the conveyor belt, increasing its wrap angle with the drive roller, thereby improving the transmission efficiency and the stability of the conveyor belt.
The redirection roller is usually located at the tail of the belt conveyor (i.e. the starting end of the material input), forming a certain angle with the drive roller to guide the conveyor belt to run in the predetermined direction. In actual applications, the number and position of the redirection roller will be flexibly adjusted according to factors such as the length of the conveyor, the width of the conveyor belt, and the characteristics of the material.
Although the redirection roller is similar to the drive roller in structure, both consisting of a main shaft, a roller bearing, and a bearing chamber, the shaft of the redirection roller usually does not extend out of the bearing seat to avoid unnecessary interference with the conveyor belt. In addition, the surface treatment of the redirecting roller (such as rubber coating, casting, etc.) will also affect its wear resistance, corrosion resistance and the friction coefficient of the conveyor belt, which in turn affects the conveying efficiency and the stability of material transportation.
The drive roller and the redirecting roller each have their own functions in the belt conveyor, and together constitute the core components of the conveying system. The drive roller is responsible for providing power to drive the conveyor belt to run continuously; while the redirecting roller is responsible for changing the running direction of the conveyor belt to ensure that the material can be transported along the predetermined path. The two cooperate with each other to jointly realize the efficient, continuous and stable material transportation function of the belt conveyor. In practical applications, the type, quantity and layout of the drive roller and the redirecting roller should be reasonably selected according to the specific needs of the conveyor to optimize the performance of the conveying system and improve production efficiency.
